SUMMER SUNDAY TEA - 15 AUGUST
2:00 pm, Sunday, 15 August, 2010

August Sundays - visit the Museum (open noon to 4pm) and then enjoy a cup of tea with a cream tea or slice of cake (served 2pm - 4pm).

On Sunday afternoons during August visitors will be able to purchase a cream tea, all made by Museum volunteers, sit down with a cup of tea and chat to other visitors – or just read the Sunday paper.

The Museum, which is free on Sundays, houses an outstanding collection tracing the fascinating history of people living in Wiltshire in a series of galleries, including Neolithic, Bronze Age, Roman and Medieval. Also displayed are important finds associated with both Avebury and Stonehenge, including finds from Bush Barrow, described as the ‘crown jewels of the King of Stonehenge’. More modern history is explored in the Recent History Gallery and in the Natural History Gallery visitors can explore the geology and wildlife of the county, including the county’s famous chalk downland. There are also activities in each gallery for children (of all ages) to enjoy.

So come along - view our wonderful collections - and then partake of a piece of cake and a cup of tea, from £2.25.
